    Developer experience (DX) is very important to us at RAKBANK and we want to ensure developers who are interested in our banking APIs, have all the information and resources required to get started, integrate, test, get answers to queries and eventually upgrade to our UAT and Production environments.

  • Who can use our APIs?

    FinTechs & Third Party App Developers

    RAKBANK has a huge customer base of 1,000,000 customers in the U.A.E. FinTechs & Third Party App Developers can leverage on our Digital Banking customer base for all their innovative financial and payment Apps. Our customers can download these FinTech & Third Party Apps from App Stores, and securely link their RAKBank Account into the app and perform most of their banking activities from there as an alternative to using RAKBANK’s mobile banking app.

    Partner Institutions

    Partner Institutions who would like to use our Open APIs as a Banking platform to provide banking services to their customers on their mobile apps or web applications and improve the user experience of their customers and stay ahead in the competition. Most of the services are available only after the customer on-boarding is completed at our end. Different Open APIs are available for on-boarding different types of customers of the partner.

    External Cloud Hosted RAKBANK App Developers

    RAKBANK sponsored Apps that are hosted on external clouds need to interact with the Bank Network via Open APIs. All APIs built for fintechs and partners would be made available for our cloud hosted Apps as well. Some APIs, however, are created specifically for RAKBANK Apps and not available to other client types. The API documentation and sandbox for such APIs will also be made available on this portal.

    All our Open APIs have been broadly categorized based on the supported client type(s). The API Product explorer page uses the below color coding for the API logos to show the supported client types:
